SECURE. Discoverable. Defendable.
The Sustainable Outcomes Registry, a global platform for Sustainable Outcome Digital Assets (SODA).
Transparency and reliability in every sustainability claim
Genuine, audit-ready proof of completed outcomes and impact
Alignment with standards and versatile applications
What is SODA?
SODAs are a new class of digital assets issued exclusively for sustainability outcomes, making sustainability claims defendable.
Global collective effort is now needed. A core principle of Sustainable Outcome Registry is to provide financial incentive through SODA for engagement in sustainable transition across economies and countries.
Your Platform for Verifiable Outcomes
In an era where real sustainable transition is urgent and existential, the sodaregistry platform stands distinct from traditional carbon credits by enabling sustainable investment into outcomes, instead of promises.
This innovative platform provides a transparent and reliable solution for verifying completed sustainability outcomes, fostering investment in environmental progress while adhering to stringent standards.
Authenticity At The Core
Evidence of completed sustainable transition is mandatory. While we admire long term planning, we only recognise that which has been delivered.
SODA issued meet strict attributes including the absence of any obligation, climate or sustainability-related risk to the intrinsic value of the SODA.
These attributes are unique to SODA, globally.
Global Frameworks Made Simple
A global private registry enabling global public discoverability of registered sustainability claims, and their underlying SODA.
A jurisdictional establishment complying with local legislation and regulation, it is licensed to issue sovereign SODA integrated into the legislation and regulation and as a true asset aligning to asset trade legislation and international trade protocols.
Versatile Digital Assets
SODA can be held, transferred, or used to substantiate sustainability claims, enhancing corporate sustainability narratives. They can be transferred cross-border without loss of integrity.
SODA can be added to the balance sheet as emissions offsets, to balance the reported emissions liability of an organisation.
A Stable, Scalable Model
Enabling and empowering innovation in sustainable methodology development across all industry sectors, competitive professional measurement and verification services, our multi-faceted revenue streams ensure long-term viability and scalability, reinforcing our commitment to continuous improvement
About The Industry
In the sustainability industry, transparency is key. Consumers and regulators expect organisations to be accountable for their environmental practices. Greenwashing undermines trust and hinders progress towards a greener future.
The Imperative for Transparency
As global awareness of environmental issues intensifies, consumers and regulators demand greater transparency and accountability from organisations. However, challenges such as greenwashing, where companies mislead stakeholders about their environmental practices, undermine trust and impede progress. Tech Target
Evolving Regulatory Landscape
Governments worldwide are tightening regulations to combat misleading environmental claims. For instance, the UK's Financial Conduct Authority has introduced stringent anti-greenwashing rules to ensure that sustainability-related claims are accurate and verifiable - Reuters
SOR's Role in Addressing Industry Challenges
SODA offers a solution that enables organisations to safely make sustainability claims. This approach meets the need that unlocks broad scale investment in sustainable transition projects, not just carbon, but a range of sustainability outcomes.
How It Works
Project Origination & Registration
SODA accredits knowledgeable consultants to help project owners through the registration, measurement and verification process.
Projects register on the Sustainable Outcomes Registry, selecting a methodology that suits their project type.
Measurement & Verification
Methodology competent measurement providers are made available for the project to complete the measurement.
Project can then engage specific methodology competent verifiers to complete the verification and the measured sustainable transition.
SODA Issuance
Upon successful verification, a Sustainable Outcome Digital Asset (SODA) is issued and recorded in the Sustainable Outcome Registry, serving as a permanent and immutable record of the achieved, retrospectively measured sustainability outcome.
SODAs can be:
- Held: As valuable assets of the account holder representing completed Sustainability Outcomes
- Transferred: To other account holders.
- Used to substantiate a claim: Sustainability claims can be registered on the Sustainable Outcomes registry.
Frequently asked questions
General
What is a SODA?
A Sustainable Outcome Digital Asset (SODA) represents a verified sustainability outcome that has already been achieved, providing concrete evidence of environmental impact
How does SODA differ from carbon credits?
Unlike carbon credits, which often involve projections of future emissions reductions, SODAs are based on actual, realised sustainability outcomes. SODA is not exposed to permanence risk, operational risk, climate risk, invalidity or reversal risks. SODA is not even exposed to platform risk.
How does SODA combat greenwashing?
SODA is measured on the basis of evidence of completed sustainable transition. This measurement is independently verified. SODA is not subject to subsequent risks (permanence, operations, climate, invalidity, reversal, platform etc) and so once the diligence is done at the time of purchase, it can thereafter be assured to be permanent. Permanently protected from risk of subsequent failure leading to greenwashing.
Can SODAs be traded?
Yes, SODAs are digital assets in accordance with International accounting standards. This means that they are owned by the account holder. Further, SODA are equivalent in their sustainable outcome value internationally – and therefore exchangeable cross-border.
Who can benefit from SODAs?
All stakeholders benefit from SODA. Project proponents benefit from the removal of future obligation on their land including restriction and maintenance. Methodology developers can earn a revenue stream to update and improve sustainable transition methodologies and to compete globally on methodology quality & effectiveness. Governments benefit from transparency on project performance and revenue streams and the associated tax and tariff revenue streams. Offsetting corporations benefit from defendable sustainability claims that remain valid and true protecting their brand and reputation.
